Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Network Engineer V on behalf of our client in Woodlawn, MD / Baltimore, MD. This senior-level role is responsible for leading enterprise network architecture, design, and cybersecurity engineering initiatives across a large, distributed environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities to drive network modernization, performance optimization, and secure infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead network architecture, engineering, and design efforts for enterprise and data center environments
  • Provide technical analysis and develop efficient solutions for complex network and cybersecurity challenges
  • Evaluate, validate, and optimize enterprise network designs, systems, and software for performance and security risks
  • Develop implementation strategies and execution plans for large-scale network rollouts and upgrades
  • Design and maintain unified network architecture, including detailed schematics and specifications
  • Configure and manage enterprise networking technologies, including VPN, NAC, Cisco ISE, Cisco Nexus, and Cisco ASR
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and mitigate risks and throughput issues
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network monitoring and performance management
  • Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors for network operations and maintenance
  • Provide advanced (Tier 3) troubleshooting and support for complex network issues
  • Identify opportunities to enhance network performance, scalability, and reliability using industry best practices
  • Mentor team members and provide technical leadership and guidance
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience, Master's degree with 12+ years, PhD with 9+ years, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience engineering complex enterprise network systems
  • CCIE certification (or equivalent expert-level Cisco certification) required
  • Additional advanced certification such as CCIE or CCDE required
  • Extensive knowledge of LAN technologies, including Ethernet, 802.1x, wireless LAN, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
  • Strong expertise in enterprise network architecture, design, and implementation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCIE certification in the Security domain
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco NX-OS, Cisco ISE, and SD-WAN
  • Strong experience working with Cisco-based enterprise networks
  • Knowledge of WAN technologies and routing protocols
  • Experience with SAN (Storage Area Network) and data center networking
  • Understanding of network connectivity for physical and virtualized environments
  • Experience with public and private cloud networking solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working in federal, government, or large-scale enterprise environments
