Description
This position is responsible for design, analysis and support of the organization's local area
network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), VoIP infrastructure, and Internet system or a segment
of a network system. Design, install and configure network/VoIP hardware and software. Monitor
network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance
to support network availability. Will also lead staff in troubleshooting network performance issues,
analysis of network traffic, preparation of capacity planning reports, and assists in resolving
major problems with network products, components, and protocols in a timely manner.
Utilizes service management tools, following established policy and procedures, to track
and document issues, requests, incidents and projects. Performs follow up to ensure
issues, requests and incidents are resolved.
Participates in DOTComm's change management process for software and hardware
changes. Communicates, as necessary, with end-users regarding changes that may
impact operations.
Enters time (worked and non-worked) for tickets and projects on a daily/weekly basis
ensuring all time is documented according to procedures and processes.
Designs and recommends short and long-term network and security architectures and
strategies.
Manages and validates data and voice network systems backups and assists in the
planning for business interruption and disaster recovery operations.
Develops and implements policies for network asset management, including
maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation, and technical
specifications information.
Evaluates and/or recommends purchases of network hardware, peripheral equipment
and software. Design, configure and install complex voice, data and server network
systems.
Interacts with Clients, internal and external, on all aspects of identifying requirements
and resolving network issues.
Provides project leadership as technical lead with ability to re-plan a project or

recommend project termination (if necessary) to reflect changes to priorities, cost, scope,
schedule, budget and resource availability.
Maintains network-related site licenses for department/organization.
Provides leadership, training, mentoring and guidance to enable team members to
complete assigned tasks.
Creates, updates and implements network configuration, build specifications and
installation documentation and procedures. Ensures procedures follow and adhere to
industry standards and best practices which allow for minimal downtime and client
impact.
Coordinates with the security team to scan, harden and protect systems against possible
threats. Identifies and responds to security vulnerabilities, attacks, and events and
communicates such to management.
Maintains relationships with vendors and service providers to escalate and resolve
system issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
This position is a contract-to-hire position with the possibility of direct hire
salary range is $90,000 - 105,000, dependent on experience.
This position is hybrid, but may be in-person during training/while orienting to the organization

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
