BASE24 Developer (Classic to BASE24-eps Migration)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payment Systems Developer to lead and execute the migration of transaction processing systems from BASE24 Classic (NonStop) to BASE24-eps.

This role requires deep technical expertise in both Classic and EPS environments, strong knowledge of card payment processing and switch interchange systems, and hands-on development experience in NonStop systems. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless migration with minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Migration Execution

• Analyze existing BASE24 Classic configurations, customizations, and transaction flows to develop comprehensive migration specifications.
• Convert custom transaction processing logic, authorization rules, and routing configurations from Classic to BASE24-eps framework.
• Develop and maintain migration scripts, data transformation utilities, and automation tools.
• Design and implement interface adaptations for upstream systems (card management, fraud detection) and downstream systems (settlement, reporting).
• Ensure data integrity across configuration files, transaction logs, and historical data during migration.
• Support parallel operations and ensure consistency between Classic and EPS outputs.

2. Technical Development

• Build and configure BASE24-eps transaction processing modules aligned with business requirements.
• Develop custom exits, user exits, and API integrations in the EPS environment.
• Program using C, COBOL, TAL, C-COBOL, and SQL within NonStop systems.
• Work with:
  • TACL system (Classic environment)
  • DALCI GUI tools (EPS environment)
• Optimize transaction performance and system resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across both Classic and EPS platforms.

3. Quality Assurance & Testing

• Design and execute unit, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Perform performance benchmarking and load testing to validate throughput and response times.
• Conduct parallel testing to ensure transaction consistency between Classic and EPS.
• Document defects, resolutions, and test results.
• Support business teams during UAT and production validation.

4. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Develop detailed technical documentation including:
  • System architecture
  • Interface specifications
  • Operational procedures
• Create runbooks for operational support and troubleshooting.
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for development, operations, and support teams.
• Maintain version control and configuration management documentation.

5. Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects, QA, and Operations teams.
• Participate in status meetings and provide progress updates.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for integration validation.
• Provide post-migration hypercare and production support.
• Mentor junior team members on BASE24 best practices.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in BASE24 Classic (NonStop).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with BASE24-eps architecture and transaction processing.
• Strong expertise in:
  • HP NonStop systems
  • TACL environment
  • TAL and C-COBOL programming (Classic)
  • C and SQL programming (EPS)
• Experience with DALCI GUI tools (EPS).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 8583 message formats and EMV transaction processing.
• Experience with database technologies (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN).
• Experience with mainframe and distributed systems environments.

Domain Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:
  • Card payment authorization, clearing, and settlement flows
  • Switch interchange processing
  • PCI-DSS compliance requirements
• Experience with fraud detection systems and payment security protocols.
• Understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACI Worldwide certification in BASE24 Classic and/or BASE24-eps.
• Experience with additional payment platforms (Postilion, VisionPLUS, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Splunk, Nagios).
• Prior experience in large-scale payment platform migration projects.
