Power BI Developer

Manager Note: Healthcare industry experience is the top priority for this role.

Key Responsibilities

·         Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytical applications.

·         Develop Power BI solutions intended for external clients, third-party users, and customer-facing environments.

·         Work with business stakeholders, technical teams, and clients to understand reporting and analytics requirements.

·         Translate complex business requirements into scalable and user-friendly BI solutions.

·         Develop optimized DAX measures, calculated columns, data models, and Power Query transformations.

·         Design and implement efficient Power BI semantic/data models.

·         Connect Power BI to multiple data sources, including SQL databases, APIs, data warehouses, and other enterprise systems.

·         Optimize report performance, data models, DAX queries, and refresh processes.

·         Implement appropriate Row-Level Security (RLS) and security controls for external/client-facing reporting.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI, data, refresh, and performance issues.

·         Establish and follow Power BI development standards, best practices, and governance.

·         Collaborate with data engineers, developers, analysts, project managers, and healthcare subject-matter experts.

·         Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other Power BI developers on the team.

·         Participate in architecture and design discussions for new BI solutions.

·         Support deployment and promotion of Power BI content across development, test, and production environments.

Required Qualifications

·         Senior-level experience as a Power BI Developer / BI Developer.

·         Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.

·         Healthcare industry experience is highly preferred and will be the top consideration.

·         Experience developing client-facing or externally consumed Power BI applications/reports.

·         Strong experience with DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling.

·         Strong SQL development experience.

·         Experience designing and optimizing complex data models.

·         Experience with Power BI Service, workspaces, datasets/semantic models, gateways, refreshes, and deployments.

·         Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and other Power BI security features.

·         Ability to work independently on complex BI requirements and provide senior-level technical guidance.

·         Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
