We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect who has previous divestiture experience where they have had to design and execute on infrastructure migration efforts in the past. This role is for a senior level Infrastructure Architect who will lead the design and strategy for a full separation of a large enterprise from its parent company, including building a completely standalone infrastructure, defining the future state environment, and guiding all major migration decisions. The architect will evaluate hosting options, design multi cloud, or hybrid architectures, and oversee the migration of IBM iSeries, AIX, Linux, and x86 systems, along with all applications currently hosted by the parent organization. The position requires deep expertise in legacy to modern infrastructure transitions, strong network architecture knowledge with an emphasis on performance and latency, and the ability to create clear roadmaps, decision frameworks, and technical guidance for executives. Ideal candidates bring extensive experience with IBM iSeries and AIX, large scale infrastructure migrations, multi-cloud and multi-tenancy, and familiarity with environments similar to those found in highly regulated, multi platform enterprises. Another major area of expertise this person should have is prevention of latency issues as they think through infrastructure design.
Required Skills:
At least 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience with the majority as an infrastructure architect in an enterprise company
Experience leading and designing a migration of a legacy infrastructure as part of a divestiture
Experience evaluating future state hosting models (colo, IBM Cloud, hybrid, multi cloud)
Proven capability to design target-state infrastructure for large-scale carve outs or divestitures
Strong background defining DR, HA, security, and vulnerability management strategies
Ability to lead migration of all CVS hosted infrastructure and applications to standalone capacity or like for like platforms
Prior work modernizing legacy environments and moving them into cloud or hybrid architectures
Experience designing enterprise network architectures supporting multi cloud or hybrid environments
Familiarity with network performance, latency, and application level impacts
Ability to guide decisions around connectivity, segmentation, and security posture
Desired Skills:
Ideal candidate would have deep experience and knowledge of the architecture and executing large-scale infrastructure migrations of the following: IBM i / iSeries (P9-P11), AIX, Linux and x86 environments
Understanding of divestitures, TSA constraints and highly regulated industries strongly preferred
