VDOT is seeking a highly-experienced Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to lead the implementation, configuration, governance, and ongoing management of our enterprise Azure environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building and maintaining secure, resilient, and scalable cloud platforms - and who is ready to set the standard for cloud excellence across the organization.
We are looking for a senior-level engineer with deep expertise in Azure's ecosystem, proven enterprise-grade operational experience, and the ability to provide technical leadership across teams and to management.

Core Responsibilities & Required Experience:- Provide expert guidance on the design, implementation, configuration, and governance of Azure resources, networking, and security policies
- Implement, maintain, and monitor mission-critical cloud resources in a large enterprise environment
- Manage and optimize enterprise backup and disaster recovery operations, ensuring reliability and continuity
- Plan, lead, and execute cloud migration initiatives, including moving workloads from on-premises to Azure
- In-depth experience working with other areas of IT such as architecture, security, development, and governance.
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting for production applications and infrastructure
- Utilize security tools such as Tenable to manage vulnerability remediation and improve security posture
- Build meaningful observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Workbooks, Alerts, and related tooling
- Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery (DR) strategies to minimize downtime and protect critical data
- Demonstrate strong networking knowledge, including OSI model concepts, core network protocols, and network-level troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar
