Job Details

Infrastructure Engineer

The company is located in Herndon, VA and will be a hybrid model of 2 days onsite a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
As a key member of our DevOps team, you will:
  • Support on-site commissioning teams by troubleshooting network and server issues to ensure timely, successful project delivery.
  • Manage and scale lab infrastructure-switches, firewalls, and Linux servers-to optimize performance for internal development teams.
  • Train field and commissioning teams on standardized solutions to promote autonomy and consistency.
  • Collaborate directly with customers to clarify requirements, provide updates, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure site-to-cloud network architectures.
  • Create detailed network design documentation, diagrams, and user guides to support future engineering and maintenance efforts.
  • Provide operational support, contribute to roadmap planning, and assist with new feature evaluations.
  • Participate in security hardening and compliance initiatives across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Recommend product and feature improvements based on field performance and customer feedback.
  • Support ongoing management of the company's cloud-based network environment.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial or OT networking; background in the power or energy sector strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of Linux system administration and virtualization experience (VMs or containers).
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and hands-on experience configuring switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
