Business Analyst / Business System Analyst / BSA

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong SQL skills to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in requirements gathering, data analysis, SQL querying, process improvement, and translating business needs into clear functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Work closely with business users, developers, QA teams, and project managers throughout the SDLC.
• Write and execute SQL queries to analyze business data, validate requirements, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
• Perform data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and identify data quality issues.
• Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements and actionable user stories.
• Participate in requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and UAT.
• Develop acceptance criteria and work with QA teams to ensure requirements are properly tested.
• Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements.
• Support production issues by performing root-cause analysis and data investigation using SQL.
• Create reports and dashboards or work with reporting teams to support business decision-making.
• Maintain clear documentation of requirements, processes, data mappings, and business rules.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries involving:
• SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY, ORDER BY
• Subqueries and CTEs
• Aggregate functions
• CASE statements
• Window functions
• Strong experience in requirements gathering and analysis.
• Experience creating BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
