This is a contract position anticipated to last 6 - 12 months and possibly longer. 

 

Work may be performed remotely within the contiguous United States with travel as required for business needs.   

 

Must have recent Nuclear QA Project Management Experience along with expertise in ASME Sect III.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

The Quality Assurance team is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Seine Client

quality assurance program, including supplier and internal oversight activities. 

 

 Using direct and frequent communication between other groups and departments as well as suppliers, the person

in this position provides guidance regarding compliance with applicable nuclear regulatory requirements as well as

Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

 

 In support of Project Manager, ASME Code, there will likely be interactions with the AIA, Code committees and

other stakeholders on behalf of Seine Client.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Develops, evaluates, and maintains Seine Client quality assurance program processes including writing instructions,

procedures, and other requirement and guidance documents for the quality assurance program.

 

Reviews Seine Client Level 2 and higher procedures for compliance with the Quality Assurance Program

Description (QAPD – 10CFR50 Appendix B and other international standards) and Nuclear Quality Assurance

Manual (NQAM – ASME Code Section III).

 

Supports ASME Section III supplier qualification and implementation audits, including surveillances; internal

quality assurance audits, surveillances, and assessments; may lead or participate in causal analyses.

 

After becoming certified as a Lead Auditor, this responsibility will include leading audits as assigned.

 

Provides support on various ASME Code Section III activities such as reviewing changes to the Code, assisting

Quality Assurance personnel in evaluating Code supplier QA program documents, and review of Seine Client

procurement documents for Code items and services.

 

Serve as primary Project Quality representative for 10CFR50 Appendix B and/or ASME Code Section III projects.

 

Assists in providing formal and on-the-job Quality Assurance training to Seine Client staff.

 

Serves as a mentor and technical resource by providing guidance, support, and education in the field of nuclear

quality assurance to Quality Assurance personnel and other Seine Client personnel performing activities affecting quality.

 

Participates in industry initiatives to develop and maintain knowledge of quality assurance functions as they relate to

program trends, NRC concerns, and technological developments.

 

Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

Quality Assurance

 

Commits to the understanding and implementation of nuclear quality assurance regulations, standards and

guidelines such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, NQA-1, and ASME Section III.

 

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education: 

 

A minimum of a B.S. or B.A degree is required. A technical degree is preferred. 

 

 Alternatively, an additional 8 years of full-time, highly relevant working experience (18 years total) may be considered

in lieu of a degree.

 

Experience:

 

 A minimum of 10 years of experience associated with development and/or implementation of nuclear quality assurance

programs, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing an ASME BPVC Section III program, including

certification of data reports and interface with Authorized Nuclear Inspectors is required.

 

Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of

ASME BPVC Section III is required with corresponding understanding of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and

NQA-1 and other international regulations and standards.

 

Must have excellent communication skills, including writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, along with demonstrated

ability to successfully manage complex tasks and projects.

 

Additional experience in the following areas is desired:

 

Current or previously certified Lead Auditor in an NQA-1 or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B program highly preferred.

 

Successful candidate will need to become a certified Lead Auditor. 

 

Experience with application of ISO 9001 quality requirements in conjunction with NQA-1 and Appendix B,

international experience is a plus.

 

Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
