Role: Junior role AWS Cloud Engineer - Kafka / Event Streaming

Location: Remote

Duration: 6+ months

Must haves

• 4+ yrs cloud / infrastructure engineering

• Strong Kafka (Apache, Redpanda, or MSK) – hands-on config

• Experience with topic replication, consumer lag monitoring, cluster config

• AWS Lambda – building/maintaining integrations

• AWS CDK (Python) – read, extend, deploy stacks

• IAM + Cognito (M2M / client credentials)

• Git workflows with PR discipline

• Networking basics (DNS, VPN, load balancing, security groups)

• Able to work independently from written specs

Own the API Gateway platform in AWS end-to-end. Day-to-day includes configuring routes, stages, usage plans, and authorizers, building and maintaining Lambda integrations, and managing Cognito-based auth (M2M/client credentials). You’ll maintain and extend CDK stacks, ensure environments stay consistent across accounts, support WAF/security configurations, and partner with SRE/DevOps teams on deployments, incidents, and ongoing platform improvements in a healthcare SaaS environment.
