You will be the Systems Engineer - Reliability and Maintainability for the Advanced Development Programs - Skunk Works team, which is responsible for delivering mission-defining aircraft.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Systems Engineer - Reliability and Maintainability, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development, integration, and sustainment of advanced aerospace systems through disciplined R&M engineering and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing reliability and maintainability allocations and developing quantitative predictions for new and evolving system designs.
- Developing and analyzing Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) to identify and mitigate risks early in the design cycle.
- Building system reliability models, reliability block diagrams, and mission success analyses to inform trade studies and architecture decisions.
- Supporting FRACAS activities, capturing field failures, performing root-cause analysis, and driving corrective actions.
- Collaborating within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate R&M considerations into system design, production, and sustainment planning.

Who You AreThe ideal candidate will be a collaborative and driven individual with experience in reliability and maintainability engineering. You will have a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices, and be able to communicate technical findings clearly to program leadership, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
2 to 5 years of professional engineering experience in design, analysis, test, systems engineering, sustainment, or a related technical field.
Exposure to engineering analyses such as reliability predictions, maintainability analyses, FMECA, mission success modeling, risk assessments, trade studies, or FRACAS activities. Direct R&M experience is not required.
Experience working within cross-functional engineering teams in a program or project-based environment.
Desired skills Foundational understanding of reliability and maintainability engineering principles, including familiarity with reliability predictions, failure modeling, derating concepts, and mission success assessments.
Familiarity with logistics or sustainment data development, including exposure to Logistics Product Data (LPD) and awareness of GEIA-STD-0007 or related standards.
Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts, with experience in SysML or modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler considered a plus.
Experience supporting or contributing to FMECA, Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), fault tree analysis, reliability block diagrams, or testability analysis.

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $102,800 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
