Job Description
We are seeking a Database Engineer Contractor to join our team supporting a Deloitte project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data modeling, SQL, ETL development, and performance optimization and a proven ability to design, implement, and secure large-scale relational databases that enable accurate reporting and analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize database systems to support storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- Design and construct large relational databases aligned to project requirements.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes that integrate new systems with existing data warehouse structures.
- Refine database functionality and tuning to ensure efficient data retrieval and performance.
- Implement and enforce database security to protect integrity and confidentiality.
- Perform regular data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Primary skill: Data Modeler.
- Advanced SQL development and optimization for relational databases.
- ETL design and maintenance for data warehouse environments.
- Business analysis skills for translating requirements into data models and reporting solutions.
- Understanding of technical architecture and database security practices.
- Experience level: Advanced, 6-9 years in relevant roles.
Preferred Skills:
- Insurance domain experience, including data modeling for policy, claims, billing, and underwriting.
- Reporting and dashboard development experience.
