Job Description
- Client is seeking experienced Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to support a growing portfolio of AI-enabled business applications. These positions are designed for senior-level software engineers who can independently lead application development efforts from requirements gathering through production deployment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work directly with business stakeholders, and leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate application delivery.
- This role requires a highly versatile professional who can perform responsibilities traditionally handled by developers, business analysts, solution architects, and QA engineers. Candidates must be comfortable working with limited oversight and delivering business value through rapid development cycles.
- Primary responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting web-based applications; collaborating directly with business stakeholders to define requirements; supporting cloud-hosted solutions within AWS; integrating enterprise systems and APIs; reviewing and validating AI-generated code; and ensuring delivered applications meet security, scalability, and maintainability standards.
There are 3 separate roles that are slightly different:
1. Onsite Forward Deployed Engineer - Angular, AWS, PostGreSql, C#, Github Copilot experience
2. Onsite Forward Deployed Engineer - React, AWS, PostGreSql, C#, Github Copilot experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Candidates must have a minimum of eight years of software engineering experience and demonstrated success delivering applications with minimal supervision.
2. For Angular-focused positions, candidates must possess strong experience with Angular, C#, PostgreSQL, AWS, REST APIs, and Git/GitHub.
3. For the React-focused position, candidates must possess strong experience with React, TypeScript, C#, PostgreSQL, AWS, REST APIs, and Git/GitHub.
4. Candidates must have practical experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-powered coding tools as part of their software development workflow.
5. Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and independently managing the software development lifecycle is required.
6. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable working across technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Previous experience within the oil and gas industry is preferred.
2. Experience supporting citizen developer programs, low-code initiatives, or digital transformation efforts is highly desirable.
3. Experience building cloud-native solutions and integrating enterprise applications is preferred.
4. For the React position, experience with Next.js is a plus.
5. Candidates with experience working in small, highly autonomous development teams and demonstrated success using AI-assisted software delivery practices will be strongly preferred.
