The Cleaning Line Technician will attend to equipment that chemically cleans grease, scale,dirt, and other foreign matter from fabricated sheet metal details. They will performs non-destructive tests uponfabricated sheet metal details in accordance with customer, industry, andmilitary specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Preparesand applies chemical and spray coatings to fabricated sheet metal details inaccordance with customer specifications.
  • Sets-up cleaning line for processing of parts.
  • Racks or places parts in containers for immersion in chemical and rinsing solutions.
  • Dries processed parts.
  • Assists in draining, cleaning and refilling chemical baths.
  • Maintains chemical integrity of solutions in the cleaning line.
  • Logs necessary data into logbooks.
  • Uses Baan labor reporting system on a daily basis.
  • Verifies the operation as specified in the traveler as it relates to the operation being performed (i.e. the proper material, thickness, process, etc.).
  • Participates in internal and external audit, as needed.
  • Properly performs specific calibrations and tests.
  • Understands any necessary parts preparation before and after inspection.
  • Organizes and documents test results.
  • Follows all approved testing procedures.
  • Maintains all equipment, including gauges, application equipment and controls.
  • Observes all safety rules while performing tasks.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
  • Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Math Skills - decimals, percentages, fractions - geometry and trigonometry preferred.
  • Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions, software programs and internal ERP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars.
  • Ability to read various mechanical and electronic gauging systems to monitor calibrateand maintain all chemicals and processes within established guidelines.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments including but not limited to calipers, indicators, and scales.
  • Reads and understands internal procedures and policies and travelers.
  • Understands and follows-through on both verbal and written instructions.
  • Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
  • Communicates courteously and professionally at all organizational levels.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • Annual baseline hearing test is required.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
This is a generic job posting for a Process Line Technician. Depending on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience, they will be hired into an entry (I) level, intermediate (II) level or expert (III) level job and pay scale.

Pay Range: $18.00-19.50/hour
