Job Title: Senior Cognos Developer

Location: Remote

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cognos Developer with expertise in IBM Cognos Analytics, Report Studio, Framework Manager, Data Modeling, and SQL development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise reporting solutions while collaborating with business stakeholders, data engineers, and BI teams to deliver high-quality dashboards and reports.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise reporting solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics.
Develop and enhance reports using Report Studio, Workspace Advanced, and Dashboarding.
Build and maintain metadata models using Framework Manager.
Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation scripts.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical reporting solutions.
Optimize report performance and tune SQL queries for large datasets.
Design and implement reusable report templates and reporting standards.
Develop parameterized reports, drill-through reports, prompts, and dashboards.
Work with data warehouse teams to ensure accurate reporting and data quality.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide Level 2/Level 3 support.
Perform report migration between Development, QA, and Production environments.
Participate in report testing, validation, and deployment activities.
Prepare technical documentation and knowledge transfer documents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.

Required Experience

8–12+ years of Cognos BI development
Strong SQL programming skills
Experience with enterprise reporting environments
Experience with large-scale data warehouses
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
