Work You'll Do

As a Policy Coordinator, Strategy and Transformation Consultant on the Government and Public Services team, you will be responsible for:


  • Managing the administrative pipeline for 90+ active policy issuances, tracking milestones, routing status, edit histories, and review timelines to support timely completion.

  • Maintaining the office's master tracker and supporting quality control across policy packages to align with DoW formatting requirements, style guidance, and structural templates.

  • Establishing and enforcing standard operating procedures for the receipt, intake, tracking, and filing of policy edits, revisions, and supporting documentation.

  • Editing technical input from subject matter specialists to produce clear, consistent, and plain-language policy statements for stakeholder review and leadership action.

  • Preparing executive summaries, routing sheets, formal action memos, and other materials to support senior DoW leadership decision-making.

  • Coordinating with action officers, legal counsel, and cross-functional stakeholders to support policy routing, resolve feedback, and advance issuances through the review process.

Qualifications

Required
:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Active Secret security clearance required

  • Ability to work on-site in Alexandria up to 5 days a week

  • 2+ years of experience drafting, routing, or coordinating official policies, instructions, directives, or executive-level communications within a defense, military, or federal government environment

  • Experience managing high-volume document or task portfolios, including maintaining trackers for milestones, routing status, and revision history

  • Experience reviewing and editing policy or technical content for formatting, structure, and plain-language consistency

  • Experience preparing executive summaries, routing sheets, action memos, or similar materials for senior leaders

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, and SharePoint or similar enterprise collaboration platforms

Preferred:

  • Experience using Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS)

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional working groups to resolve conflicting stakeholder feedback on policy packages

  • Experience supporting policy development or policy administration within senior-level DoW staff environments

This compensation range is specific to Virginia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,600 to $147,600.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
