SENIOR POWER BI DEVELOPER with Copilot Implementation (Only Visa Independent Candidate/W2)

• One or two examples of their most complex Power BI frontend pages, preferably as screenshots or other visual samples.
• If visual samples cannot be shared, provide a detailed written description of the design, functionality, audience, data-visualization approach, and technical complexity.
• One or two examples of successful Microsoft Copilot and Power BI implementations, including the use case, the candidate’s role, the solution delivered, and the resulting business impact.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power BI Developer to lead two hands-on initiatives: redesigning an executive Finance/P&L reporting solution and developing practical Microsoft Copilot use cases within an established Power BI environment.

This position requires deep, current implementation experience. The successful consultant must contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

• Redesign and modernize existing Finance and P&L reports and dashboards.
• Build polished, executive-level Power BI pages using standard Power BI visuals only.
• Apply advanced data-visualization techniques to make complex financial information clear, intuitive, and actionable.
• Develop and optimize advanced DAX calculations, Power Query logic, calculation groups, and semantic models.
• Design solutions involving complex relationships, enterprise security, RLS, and OLS.
• Assess, recommend, design, and implement Microsoft Copilot use cases for Power BI.
• Enhance the existing semantic model to support meaningful AI and Copilot functionality.
• Collaborate with finance executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams to translate requirements into production-ready solutions.
• Improve reporting usability, performance, governance, and executive adoption.

 

Current Power BI Environment

The existing semantic model supports approximately:

• 30 reports and dashboards
• 250 users, including the CFO
• 400 measures
• Three calculation groups
• 30 relationships
• 70 RLS and OLS security roles
• 50 tables
• 300 MB model size

 

Required Experience

• Advanced frontend Power BI development experience.
• Demonstrated success building executive and financial reporting dashboards.
• Expert-level DAX, Power Query, and semantic modeling skills.
• Strong experience with calculation groups, complex relationships, model optimization, RLS, and OLS.
• Proven ability to create sophisticated reporting experiences using standard Power BI visuals.
• Practical experience implementing Microsoft Copilot specifically within Power BI.
• Experience assessing AI opportunities and designing production-ready AI and BI use cases.
• Ability to work independently and deliver in a mature enterprise Power BI environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-facing skills.
