  • Partner with security, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure secure engineering practices and audit-ready controls.

  • Standardize event streaming and messaging practices, including idempotency, retry strategies, and dead-letter queue handling.

  • Mentor and coach senior and lead engineers to strengthen engineering practices across squads.

  • Communicate technical strategy, tradeoffs, and delivery plans to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Core Java and distributed systems.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures.

  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling for high-volume systems.

  • Experience with automation and AI-assisted development, including Copilot or similar tools.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and solution orientation with effective communication abilities.

  • Degree preferred, or 7-8 years of equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting debit, payments, or other high-volume transaction platforms in regulated environments.

  • Familiarity with PCI DSS-aligned controls and collaboration with audit, risk, and compliance teams.

  • Experience with Camunda and BPMN-based workflow orchestration.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, and GitOps delivery models.

  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, and/or Dynatrace in large distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with ISO 8583 and/or ISO 20022 integrations, reconciliation patterns, or settlement workflows.

  • Industry experience with debit card payments, POS, or banking.
