Overview
Wells Fargo is executing a major cloud migration from Teradata to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This effort includes migrating over 20,000 tables and is focused primarily on ETL pipeline migration using a lift-and-shift approach. The project is currently in the development phase. This role is ideal for a Business Data Analyst who has supported legacy-to-cloud migration efforts and can drive data validation, reconciliation, and risk mitigation across a large-scale migration.

Responsibilities

  • Support Teradata to Google Cloud Platform migration activities with a primary focus on ETL pipeline migration validation
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation across source and target systems (Teradata to BigQuery)
  • Partner with engineers and stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues and migration defects
  • Help document and track lineage, access controls, and readiness items tied to migration requirements
  • Maintain delivery artifacts in Jira and Confluence (tracking, documentation, status, issues, and decisions)
  • Contribute to migration planning and execution support including checklists, validation tracking, and defect triage
  • Provide clear status updates and escalate risks related to quality, performance, timelines, or controls

Required skills and experience

  • Business Data Analyst experience supporting data platforms, data warehouse, or ETL initiatives
  • Experience supporting cloud migrations from legacy systems (Teradata strongly preferred)
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms (AWS or Azure acceptable if strong migration background)
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, validation, and reconciliation
  • Proven experience with data quality validation and defect/issue management
  • Experience working in Agile environments with Jira and Confluence
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal hand holding and strong ownership

Nice to have

  • Direct BigQuery experience
  • Prior Teradata to Google Cloud Platform or Teradata to BigQuery migration experience
  • Experience documenting lineage and access controls in regulated environments
