Head of Talent (Full-time - Hybrid)

About this role

• We are looking for a Head of Talent with 6+ years of experience to build our recruiting function from the ground up. You are a super-networker who loves people and has a proactive strategy for finding the absolute best talent, not just candidates on the open market. We need a true partner to the CEO who can source, evaluate, and win the people who will help us scale our mission to end the youth mental health crisis. This is a foundational role with massive ownership and impact.

What will you be doing?

• Own and manage the entire recruiting process, including relationships with external agencies, to hire 25-30 people in the next 9 months.
• Develop and execute a proactive strategy to network and source top-tier talent, especially for engineering, product, and design roles.
• Build our recruiting infrastructure from scratch, including processes, systems, and interviewer training.
• Partner directly with the CEO and leadership on hiring plans, organizational design, and compensation strategy.
• Act as the sole talent operator for the first 6-12 months, handling everything from sourcing to closing, before building a team.

• Client is on a mission to end the youth mental health crisis by reducing the suicide rate for teens back to 2008 levels of 6.8 per 100,000 (1) for the 42 Million teens in the U.S.
• To combat this, we are creating the first scaled network of Certified Peer Specialists and building the most engaging mental health experience in the world for teenagers. We’ve found deep resonance with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations and State Health Agencies and we’re scaling to quickly towards serving hundreds of thousands of teens.

Role requirements

• 6+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting OR equivalent experience as a founder who built/recruited their own team
• Built a recruiting function from the ground up.
• Must have done full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions (engineering, product, design, operations, leadership)
• Experience in tech/startup environments
• Experience as a former founder or VC talent partner.

Hard skills

• Experience implementing an ATS and building a sourcing stack.
• Developed creative, network-driven strategies for sourcing passive talent.
• A 'super networker' who is warm, empathetic, and sales-driven.

Miscellaneous

• Must work from the NYC office 5 days/week.
• Demonstrated interest in mental health or mission-driven companies.
