Summary
Responsibilities:
- Composite part fabrication
- Establish manufacturing sequences and improve production processes for thermoset and/or thermoplastic composite materials
- Develop, evaluate, and improve composite manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment, including manufacturing tooling and fixtures
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and BOMs
- Apply engineering knowledge to fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials selection
- Support production through troubleshooting, operator training, and process optimization
- Operate and support composite manufacturing equipment (cutting tables, presses, autoclaves, ovens, test equipment)
Qualifications:
- 5+ years-experience. Degree pref'd but not required
- Experience developing process and equipment qualification plans
- Ability to define requirements for tooling, fixtures, automation, and inspection aids
- Exp. w/ Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis
- GD&T
- CAD exp- SolidWorks and/or Catia
- Interpret drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications
- All of the above in ***Composites Product and/or Aerospace environments*** is ideal.
