Camera Simulation FEA Engineer

Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish!\\n\\nThe Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. This team is seeking a mechanical engineer that specializes in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to utilize simulation tools to evaluate and guide the design of future camera components and technologies. As a simulation engineer on the Camera Hardware Engineering team, you will take an active role in the design process and meaningfully impact the final product.

Perform Finite Element modeling and simulations using ABAQUS and other simulation software as required. Work day-to-day with design engineers on camera design evaluation, validation, and optimization. Interpret FEA results and leverage insights to provide physical explanations that identify root cause and possible solutions. Recommend design changes to meet product performance requirements. Participate in team brainstorming for new technology development. Develop new simulation techniques and expand capabilities as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Material Science, or similar discipline with relevant experience\nSimulation software experience using ANSYS, Abaqus, or relevant experience

3+ years relevant industry experience\nMS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Material Science, or similar discipline\nExperience in material testing and failure analysis\nBackground in solid mechanics and materials science\nExperience with explicit dynamics and thermal simulations\nExperience in building and calibrating non-linear material models\nExperience with electro-magnetic simulations; analysis of voice coil motors (VCM)\nExperience working with adhesive joints; analyzing and predicting adhesive failure modes\nKnowledge of Python, Abaqus user subroutine development and iSight \nANSYS Icepack and Maxwell, COMSOL, ANSA\nExperience in CAD modeling with NX or Solidworks
