QA Testing Analyst - SDET
Remote - Hybrid Position - 3 days onsite in Reston, VA
Key Responsibilities • Develop clear, comprehensive documentation including business requirements, release notes, and user guides. • Perform system analysis and software testing using SQL, Jira, and other analytical tools. • Apply working knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodologies in day to day activities. • Write and refine Jira Epics, Features, and User Stories with clear descriptions and well defined acceptance criteria. • Create, execute, and maintain UAT scenarios and manual test cases; capture evidence and ensure audit ready documentation. • Manage test cases, test plans, and test executions in Xray; ensure strong requirement to test traceability. • Build and utilize JQL filters and dashboards for UAT and testing status reporting, including tests, defects, blockers, and readiness metrics. • Log, prioritize, and manage defects in Jira; participate in and sometimes lead defect triage sessions and re testing cycles. • Support UAT entry/exit criteria, sign off processes, and overall release readiness activities across staging/UAT and production environments. • Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, SMEs, QA, and Engineering teams; communicate risks, issues, and progress to stakeholders. Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent professional experience. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in UAT, Business Testing, or Manual QA with Business Analyst responsibilities. • Strong hands-on experience with Jira (stories, workflows, defect management) and Xray test management (test plans, executions, traceability). • Proficiency in writing advanced JQL filters for reporting and dashboard creation. • Ability to translate business requirements into testable user stories and comprehensive UAT scenarios/test cases. • Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC processes, UAT, and the defect lifecycle. • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. • Strong ability to multitask, deliver on sprint goals, and manage changing priorities in a fast paced environment. • Proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel and Tableau; strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to write clear and structured business documentation (BRDs, user guides, release notes). • Skilled in system analysis and software testing using SQL, Jira, or related tools. • Experience working with Salesforce-based applications. Preferred / Nice to Have • Experience in housing finance, mortgage, credit risk, loan servicing, or regulated financial services environments. • Agile/Scrum experience with familiarity in release cadences and Go/No-Go decision processes. • Basic SQL knowledge or data validation experience (optional).
