Fire Alarm Service Tech- Gainesville

Location: Gainesville, Florida (On-site)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician with capabilities in programming, troubleshooting, and repair. This position involves working with our service team and clients to ensure critical life safety systems are repaired efficiently to maintain performance. This role requires attention to detail, effective human relations, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair Fire and Life Safety systems, including conventional, addressable, voice systems, complex smoke control, and networked solutions.
  • Use a variety of troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
  • Ensure maximum system detection and alarm coverage when effecting repairs.
  • Produce repair reports for customer acceptance and billing information.
  • Program systems via laptop computers and ensure Fire Alarm circuit integrity.
  • Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools.
  • Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
  • Work will be conducted within a 100-mile radius of the office.
Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of five years of Fire Alarm Service experience is required. Candidates with two or more years of experience will be considered if they possess a NICET certification.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience with fire alarm systems such as Siemens or Notifier is beneficial, but experience with any fire alarm service is considered.
  • Knowledge of current fire alarm systems, including smoke control, graphic user interfaces, and networked solutions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Fire Alarm circuit integrity and how to troubleshoot for circuit opens, shorts, and/or ground conditions.
  • Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop computer.
  • Knowledgeable in NFPA 72 code requirements and intermediate knowledge of Article 760 of NFPA 70.
  • Knowledge of the safe use of standard trade tools and ability to read fire system design drawings.

Preferred Qualifications
  • NICET Certification
  • Access Control experience
  • Programming experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be physically able to perform the work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working from heights, and climbing ladders.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. A company vehicle will be provided.
  • Customer-focused with skills in project management and issue resolution.
  • Possesses excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
