Role OverviewThe Cable Technician 1 is responsible for supporting structured cabling installation by pulling cable, assisting senior technicians, handling materials, and using hand and power tools. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone looking to build skills in telecommunications, structured cabling, and low-voltage construction.
Core ResponsibilitiesGeneral Duties- Pull cable under the direction of senior technicians.
- Assist Tech 2 on installations and daily project tasks.
- Run and handle materials as needed for job completion.
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Climb ladders and work at heights when required.
Installation & Construction Tasks- Lay out and install wireway, bus duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices.
- Build closets, including mounting and installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic components, and related hardware.
- Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling as required.
- Complete IDC connections such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels.
- Pull wire and/or oversee and direct conduit installation and wire pulling.
- Operate tools and equipment that require two hands, such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
