Supporting manufacturing applications

Role Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Historian Support Engineer to provide application patching, defect triage, and operational support across 60+ Historian servers operating within supply chain shop environments and centralized clusters.
This role supports time-series machine data environments that integrate factory floor data through MTConnect, IGS/KepServer, local Historians, and centralized systems (OPSVision).
Responsibilities
1️⃣ Historian Application Patching (Application-Level Only)
⚠️ Note: OS/VMware patching is out of scope.
Perform application-level patching of Historian systems.
Update required underlying software components:
Restart Windows services as required.
Validate application health post-patching.
Support 60+ distributed Historian servers.
Coordinate plant outage windows for patching.
Required Technical Skills:
Windows application patching experience
Windows Services management (Start/Stop/Restart)
Use of security certificates
REGEDIT experience for application parameter configuration
Troubleshooting installation and patch failures
2️⃣ Historian Application Defect Support
Triage incoming Historian support tickets.
Trace machine data from:
Factory Floor → MTConnect → IGS/KepServer → Local Historian → Central Historian → OPSVision
Restart collectors and Historian services as needed.
Troubleshoot driver packages and time-series database issues.
Escalate issues through Digital application support.
Coordinate resolution between plant users and technical teams.
Add machines and configure data collection pipelines.
Edit STATE tags using VB Script.
Required Technical Skills:
Experience with:
Ability to restart collectors via:
Windows Services
Configuration Manager
Firewall troubleshooting experience
Data traceability from machine source to central system
VB Script experience
Experience supporting plant-level machine integrations
Working Cadence
Weekly review of EVM reports.
Plan next-week workload.
Schedule plant outages for patching.
Provide ad-hoc support via MyTech ticketing system.
Required Background
6–8 years experience.
Manufacturing / Industrial / Supply Chain IT support experience.
Experience working in shop-floor data environments.
Understanding of machine connectivity and production data flow.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
US-based (Export Control requirement).
