Job Title: Senior Platform Architect

Position Summary:
The Senior Platform Architect will serve as a key technical and strategic leader responsible for designing, documenting, and optimizing enterprise-scale platform architectures that enable digital transformation, operational efficiency, and business agility. This role requires deep expertise in business process documentation, design, and optimization, combined with strong technical proficiency across cloud platforms, integration frameworks, and enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant platform solutions that support modernization and interoperability across systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Architectural Design & Strategy
- Define, design, and govern end-to-end enterprise platform architectures (e.g., Azure, AWS, Oracle, Salesforce, MuleSoft, ServiceNow, etc.) aligned with organizational strategy and compliance requirements.
- Lead architectural blueprinting and solution design sessions, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and sustainability of multi-tier platforms.
- Establish architectural standards, frameworks, and reusable design patterns to support modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Delivery Managers to align architecture with program-level objectives.
Business Process Documentation & Optimization
- Analyze, document, and optimize core business processes using BPMN, UML, or equivalent modeling standards.
- Develop comprehensive as-is and to-be process documentation to streamline workflows, reduce redundancies, and improve cross-functional alignment.
- Partner with business analysts and operations teams to identify process gaps and define measurable optimization KPIs.
- Leverage process automation, workflow orchestration, and data-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency.
Technical Leadership & Implementation
- Provide architectural oversight across all phases of the SDLC from requirement analysis to deployment and post-implementation review.
- Define integration patterns, data flow diagrams, and API strategies to ensure secure and efficient system interoperability.
- Drive platform modernization through containerization, microservices adoption, and CI/CD best practices using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and design patterns to align with strategic objectives and cost efficiency.
Governance, Security, and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, NIST, SOC2, GDPR, etc.) in all solution designs.
- Maintain architectural governance, conducting design reviews and impact assessments for proposed changes.
- Champion data integrity, scalability, and performance optimization across all platform components.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders and project leadership, articulating complex technical concepts in clear business terms.
- Prepare detailed documentation, architecture roadmaps, and technical presentations to facilitate decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architecture supports long-term business goals and technology strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, solution design, and system integration.
- Proven experience with business process documentation, process re-engineering, and optimization using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS, or Bizagi.
- Strong hands-on expertise with one or more cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or Salesforce).
- Proficiency in integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), or Azure Integration Services.
- Familiarity with data architecture, microservices, API management, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience implementing DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using Azure DevOps, Terraform, or ARM templates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills with experience engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification(s) such as TOGAF, SAFe Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Oracle Cloud Architect.
- Experience in public-sector modernization programs, especially within regulatory and compliance-driven environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise ERP/CRM ecosystems (Dynamics 365, Oracle Fusion, Salesforce).
- Exposure to AI/ML, data analytics, or process mining for optimization initiatives.
