Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an IT Deployment Technician for a contracting assignment with one of our premier clients in Azusa, CA.
Job Summary The Laptop Configuration Technician is responsible for preparing, configuring, and deploying laptops for end users in accordance with organizational standards. This role ensures systems are properly imaged, secured, tested, and ready for use while maintaining accurate inventory and documentation.
Key Responsibilities - Configure and deploy new laptops according to standard build procedures
- Install and update operating systems (Windows/macOS)
- EUC 2.0 experience
- Apply system images using deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, Autopilot, MDT)
- Install and configure required software, drivers, and updates
- Join devices to Active Directory or Azure AD
- Configure security settings, encryption, antivirus, and endpoint protection
- Perform quality checks and functional testing prior to deployment
- Label, tag, and track assets in inventory systems
- Package and distribute laptops to end users or remote locations
- Troubleshoot configuration and deployment issues
- Wipe, reimage, or decommission devices as needed
- Document procedures and update deployment records
Required Skills & Qualifications - Basic to intermediate knowledge of Windows 10/11 and/or macOS
- Experience with laptop imaging and configuration
- Familiarity with Active Directory
- Understanding of endpoint security practices
- Ability to follow standardized procedures and checklists
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of PowerShell or scripting basics
- IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Apple)
- Prior enterprise IT deployment experience
