Principal Engineer IT
Primary Location: Wisconsin
V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Principal Engineer IT for our premier client in Wisconsin.
Education and Experience:
- Accredited bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science or related field with five (5) or more years of related experience.
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering
- Python, Java/Groovy, JSON, Windows administration, Linux administration, and SQL database.
- Jira, Bitbucket, or Confluence, including installing and administering the tools on servers.
- Provide insight to engineering design teams and mentoring to low level engineers as needed based on expertise.
- Design, implement and document software written in Python and occasionally Java/Groovy.
- Support supervisor, engineers, and other departments to execute job assignments.
- Responsible for the design and implementation of software to meet various requirements which include: functionality, memory utilization, performance and maintainability.
- Read and create software designs in UML.
- Principal Engineer shall also be able to design and implement web-based and desktop GUI applications in Python to support management of the toolsets.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completion of a project or part of a project of moderate complexity on time.
- May be responsible for overall project schedule and budget.
- Responsible for preparation and delivery of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
- Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
- May have exposure to the external customers and/or industry organizations.
- Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers working on common projects.
- Software will develop and maintain the toolsets to facilitate the development of embedded
- Principal Engineer shall be able to plan and execute the migration of on-prem applications from Windows to Docker Containers on RedHat Linux, to be able to automate the creation of virtual machines, and update and develop middleware to support integration of on-prem application.
