Job DetailsPosition Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team and contribute to a variety of multi-discipline engineering projects. This role provides the opportunity to work under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), offering valuable experience toward professional registration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing system design and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design service water piping, sewage disposal systems, specialty piping, and fire safety systems.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable local, state, and national building codes.
Conduct predesign site visits to survey existing conditions and document findings.
Prepare preliminary design drawings and obtain necessary project approvals.
Develop contract documents including calculations, design drawings, schematics, and details for construction.
Review contractor submittals to verify conformance with design documents.
Perform site observations to ensure compliance with contract documents and building codes (responsibility increases with experience).
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2?4 years of plumbing design experience (municipal and institutional projects preferred).
Proficiency with Autodesk Revit required.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
