Senior Software Tester/QA Analyst to work

Everforth ECS is seeking a skilled Tester to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform. Our team supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) . This role supports a portfolio of high-visibility application modernization efforts focused on redesigning and enhancing enterprise procurement and acquisition systems using modern web technologies including Angular and React.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, senior-level tester who can immediately integrate into Agile delivery teams and establish strong QA practices across the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead testing strategy efforts, develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases, collaborate closely with functional staff (BAs/PMs) and developers, and drive testing execution across functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, usability, and accessibility testing activities.
This role is critical to improving software quality, reducing production defects, and strengthening client confidence through thorough, repeatable, and well-documented testing processes. The candidate must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced federal consulting environment with significant stakeholder visibility and evolving modernization priorities.
Responsibilities include:
- Read and understand requirements; land execute comprehensive testing activities across multiple DHS modernization projects
- Design tests and build test data
- Plan and coordinate test scenarios
- Perform non-functional requirements testing like usability, performance, and scalability
- Establish and document test procedures
- Create project test documents such as a Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test Management Plans, and Test Summary Reports
- Support User Acceptance Test (UAT) testing
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning/backlog refinement/standups/demos/retrospectives
- Utilize Jira/Confluence and other materials to manage testing activities, document test results, and track defects
- Support release validation and production verification activities
- Coordinate defect management activities including defect documentation, prioritization, retesting, and validation of fixes
- Identify testing gaps, risks, and quality concerns early in the development lifecycle and proactively recommend mitigation strategies
- Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products
- Promote QA best practices and contribute to establishing a culture of quality across the program
Required Skills - Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
- 3+ years of experience as a tester
- Experience with test automation
- Experience working in an Agile project environment (Kanban/Scrum) with an emphasis on frequently delivering functional software releases at a sustainable pace
- Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Experience supporting regression, integration, end-to-end, and UAT testing
- Experience supporting testing activities throughout the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience testing modern web applications built using Angular and/or React
- Excellent communication and interpersonal leadership skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills - Prior professional services or federal consulting experience; experience supporting DHS preferred
- Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence)
- Experience with 50 8 -accessibility testing
- Experience with Python or scripting languages used for test automation
- Experience testing APIs and integration using tools such as Postman
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
- Familiarity with cloud-based application environments
- Certified Section 508 Trusted Tester
- Familiarity with procurement /contractual /acquisition systems (e.g., FPDS, PRISM)
