The Role

Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.

This position is with the Enterprise Material Ordering Strategy (EMOS) group within the Supply Chain Management Division of NNS. This role supports the EMOS group by developing and maintaining internal Microsoft Access applications using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and Structured Query Language (SQL) to manage operational processes.

Other Job Duties:
-Develop and support Access front-end applications
-Write and maintains VBA and SQL database code
-Troubleshoot and improve existing tools

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
