Senior PI System Administrator (Hybrid)Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Senior PI system Administrator for their Vancouver, Washington location. This position supports data historians and provides analytical support for the Operations Engineering group along with other departments in the agency. The PI administrator will support a high availability implementation of PI. This data will be very dynamic and support critical functions.

Key Responsibilities for Senior PI System Administrator:- Perform and support the following functions:
- Interpret design specifications
- Assist with technical design
- Code software and following test and deployment procedures, comply with project documentation requirements
- Work on a development team using various development methodologies
- With oversight and approval from the Manager/Technical Lead:
- Code, test, configure, migrate, maintain and document various vendor and in-house applications to provide solutions that support business requirements
- Design and develop displays in PI Vision
- Design and develop Asset Framework implementations in support of grid operations and customer requirements
- Design, document, and communicate effective technical solutions meeting end-user requirements
- Analyze, test, and apply changes to the application environment under the prevailing change management procedures and requirements
- Design, develop and support PI Datalink reports.
- Support Administration of both SCADA and Synchrophasor PI system to provide maximum system reliability for data quality and data access.
- Evaluate and implement updates for all PI system software.
- Develop and present training material for PI system users.
- Monitor system inputs for data quality and coordinate with PSC and SPC craftsmen to troubleshoot system problems
- Create custom internal reports from PI to be utilized by Transmission Operations, the TE labs and other field locations.
- Participate in system callouts for system incident and problem resolution.
Requirements for Senior PI System Administrator:- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is preferred
- Related Experience: A minimum combination of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training is required. Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of Computer/Information Technology or related field and progressively more technical in nature.
- 5+ years previous directly related experience is required without a degree or 2+ years’ experience with Bachelor’s degree in specified or directly-related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Microsoft Office 2010 proficiency required).
- Knowledge of and proficient skill in applying the following:
- Data mining
- Advanced PI Administration
- PI high availability support/configuration
- The PI Software Development Kit (SDK)
- The PI AF (Asset Framework)
- PI Vision (Displays)
- The PI Data Link add-in
- C# development in the PI/.NET environment
- Ability to resolve issues and address questions about PI client tool installations.
- Proven experience collaborating with software developers, testers, and users throughout the System Development Life Cycle.
- Ability to create and maintain clearly written technical, user, and system documentation.
- Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems, with understanding of impact on current and future programs and processes.
- Sustain a high degree of responsibility when it comes to preventing accidental system outages or problems.
- Keep abreast of industry developments regarding appropriate network system infrastructure technology.
- Provide a sustainable IT infrastructure by supplying cross training and functional documentation.
