Summary
Role Overview
The Desktop Support IV professional provides expert-level technical support for end-user hardware, software, and desktop environments. This role acts as a senior escalation point from the Service Desk and serves as a subject matter expert across Windows desktops, enterprise applications, mobile devices, and virtualization platforms.
The client will prefer candidates who are currently based in Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced desktop and end-user technical support for Windows environments
- Resolve escalated issues from the internal Service Desk
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software
- Support Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems
- Deploy and maintain x86/x64 computers and peripherals
- Support Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise desktop applications
- Utilize remote desktop and remote control tools for user support
- Perform software deployment and patching using Microsoft MECM / SCCM
- Support iOS and Android mobile devices using enterprise MDM solutions
- Support virtualization technologies including Omnissa Horizon, VMware Workstation, and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Deliver high-quality customer service while resolving complex technical issues
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of end-user technical support in Windows environments
- 5+ years supporting Windows 10 and/or Windows 11
- 5+ years installing and supporting Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong expertise in desktop technologies
- Experience deploying and supporting x86/x64 computers
- Desktop software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Experience with remote desktop / remote control tools
- Experience with Microsoft Remote Server Administration Tools
- Experience using Microsoft MECM / SCCM for software deployment and updates
- Experience supporting iOS or Android devices using enterprise MDM solutions
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Horizon, VMware, Hyper-V)
- Experience creating technical documentation
- Strong customer service skills and user-focused support approach
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
