We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Lead Administrator / Technical Platform Owner to provide hands-on technical leadership, administration, governance, and strategic oversight of our enterprise ServiceNow platform.
This role serves as a senior internal technical authority for ServiceNow and combines advanced platform administration with responsibility for platform architecture, technical standards, integrations, security, upgrades, vendor oversight, and long-term platform health.
The successful candidate will be a strong hands-on ServiceNow practitioner who can also operate at an enterprise level – translating business requirements into sustainable technical solutions, establishing platform standards, minimizing unnecessary customization and technical debt, and providing technical direction to internal teams and external implementation partners.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as a senior technical owner and subject matter expert for the ServiceNow platform.
· Provide advanced hands-on ServiceNow administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and production support.
· Establish and enforce platform configuration, development, integration, security, and release-management standards.
· Promote an out-of-the-box first approach and minimize unnecessary customization and technical debt.
· Review and approve significant ServiceNow technical designs and platform changes.
· Support and continuously improve enterprise ITSM capabilities, including Incident, Major Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, and Service Catalog.
· Support Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) capabilities where applicable.
· Design, support, and provide technical oversight for integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems.
· Lead technical activities associated with ServiceNow upgrades, patches, testing, releases, and environment management.
· Maintain appropriate platform security, roles, groups, ACLs, and privileged-access controls.
· Partner with Configuration Management teams to support effective CMDB and CSDM practices and data quality.
· Monitor platform health, performance, automation, and integration reliability.
· Provide technical oversight of ServiceNow consultants, implementation partners, and managed-service providers.
· Maintain platform architecture, technical standards, integration documentation, and operational procedures.
· Evaluate new ServiceNow capabilities and contribute to the long-term platform roadmap.
· Mentor other ServiceNow administrators and help build internal platform expertise.
Required Qualifications
· Approximately 5–8+ years of ServiceNow experience, including senior administrator, developer, technical lead, architect, or similar responsibilities.
· ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
· At least one current ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification.
· Strong hands-on experience administering and configuring enterprise ServiceNow environments.
· Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow ITSM.
· Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, release management, testing, and production support.
· Experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Servers, or comparable technologies.
· Strong understanding of ServiceNow roles, groups, ACLs, and platform security.
· Experience with Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, notifications, Service Catalog, and related platform capabilities.
· Working knowledge of CMDB and CSDM principles.
· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
· CIS – IT Service Management certification.
· Multiple ServiceNow CIS certifications or Certified Application Developer (CAD).
· Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) and Strategic Planning Workspace.
· Experience integrating ServiceNow with platforms such as Jira, Workday, identity-management solutions, monitoring platforms, or other enterprise applications.
· Strong knowledge of ITIL-based IT service management.
· Experience working in a large, complex or regulated enterprise.
· Experience directing or reviewing work performed by ServiceNow implementation partners or managed-service providers.
