Role: Java Developer with Kafka

Location: Remote, but candidates MUST be local to one of the Client offices below for onsite interview.

Type: Contract

JD:

6+ years Java enterprise application development
Spring Boot microservices and Spring Batch
Cloud-hosted microservices (develop AND support)
Kubernetes, Docker
Kafka: Producers, Consumers, and Streams (all three, not just casual exposure)
Distributed systems / event-driven architecture
Strong SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)
Git/GitHub and hands-on CI/CD pipeline build experience (GitHub Actions, Docker; XL Deploy is listed, comparable deployment tools may be workable but flag it)
Agile environment experience
Real production support background: incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis
Bachelor's in CS/Engineering/IS or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have: AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform, monitoring/observability tools, automated testing/DevOps practices, regulated industry background (financial services, healthcare, retail).
