Job Details
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in machine design and metal fabrication. This role will focus on designing, developing, and improving custom machinery and components while working closely with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, understands real-world fabrication processes, and thrives in a hands-on engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop custom machinery, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Translate customer concepts into functional, manufacturable designs
Collaborate with machinists, welders, and assembly teams to ensure design feasibility
Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance
Perform mechanical calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection
Support prototype development, testing, and design iterations
Troubleshoot design issues and implement engineering solutions
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control
Assist in the continuous improvement of existing machinery and processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3+ years of experience in machine design or metal fabrication environments
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (required)
Strong understanding of machining, welding, and fabrication processes
Ability to read and create detailed technical drawings and GD&T
Experience designing assemblies, moving parts, and mechanical systems
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
