Job Description:
Job Title: Mechanical Drafter & Designer
Job Type: Contract
Job Location: Milpitas, CA
Work Schedule: On-site
Pay Rate: $37, Based on experience
Description:
- Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
- Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
- Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
- Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
- May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.
- Typically requires a minimum of 4 - 6 years of related experience.
Must Have Skills:
- Drafting support to mechanical design engineers (new development)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in drafting (more is better)
- Work on BOM generation - generate BOM from assemblies
- Documentation process such as ECO process
- Proficient in SolidWorks (Drafting)
- 90% to 70% - Drafting
- 10% to 30% - Documentation
- Eventually most of this work will shift to ECO process
- Good understanding of model assembling
- Make necessary corrections in errors inside the assembly – nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree – preferred
