Position Summary

The Program Manager, Latin America is responsible for supporting the growth of company presence, engagement, and member value across key markets in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. Reporting to the Director (Global or Regional), this role supports execution of regional strategy and contributes insights to inform market approaches, drives member acquisition and retention initiatives, and strengthens local chapter (component group) engagement as a key driver of member lifecycle continuity.

 

This position works in close collaboration with global teams, volunteers, and external partners to expand market reach, strengthen engagement pipelines, and deliver meaningful member experiences aligned with company priorities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Market Strategy & Growth

  • Execute market development strategy across Latin America, with a focus on Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile as priority markets
  • Conduct market research and gather insights into member needs, institutional dynamics, and local competitive landscape
  • Analyze and synthesize market insights to inform regional priorities
  • Identify and support opportunities for growth, including academic partnerships, institutional engagement, and industry collaborations
  • Contribute to localized engagement plans aligned with global membership and retention goals

Member Acquisition & Retention

  • Execute targeted initiatives to grow membership across students, early-career professionals, and institutional segments
  • Support development and delivery of retention programs focused on increasing perceived value and renewal rates
  • Monitor program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement

Partner with marketing and product teams to localize messaging, campaigns, and value propositions

Chapter Support & Engagement

  • Serve as a key liaison to international chapters, and student chapters across Latin America
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with volunteer leaders and advisors
  • Support chapter activation, sustainability, and growth, particularly in priority markets
  • Partner with volunteer leaders to increase programming frequency, relevance, and member participation
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen the transition from student chapters to professional/local section engagement
  • Facilitate faculty advisor and institutional engagement models to drive continuity of membership pipelines
  • Identify and share best practices across chapters to improve member experience, engagement, and retention outcomes

Program & Events Support

  • Lead or support planning and delivery of regional events, including workshops, webinars, conferences, and partner activations
  • Coordinate logistics, vendor relationships, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful execution
  • Ensure events align with membership growth, awareness, and engagement objectives
  • Represent company at regional events as needed
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market feedback and program performance

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and manage relationships with universities, research institutions, industry partners, and scientific societies across priority countries
  • Identify opportunities to expand partnerships aligned to growth goals
  • Support identification and onboarding of new partners to expand company reach and influence
  • Engage with faculty advisors, volunteer leaders, and early-career communities to strengthen pipeline connectivity
  • Serve as a regional point of contact for stakeholders and internal collaborators

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5–8 years of experience in program management, membership organizations, or international market engagement
  • Experience working in or with Latin America markets, particularly Brazil and Mexico strongly preferred
  • Background in scientific, academic, nonprofit, or professional membership organizations desirable

  • Strong execution focus with ability to translate strategy into action
  • Ability to independently manage priorities across multiple countries and stakeholders
  • Experience supporting membership growth, engagement, or retention initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across countries and stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills across diverse cultural contexts
  • Data-informed mindset with experience tracking and reporting performance metrics

 

Proficiency in Spanish required; Portuguese
