Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing Lead to drive end-to-end manufacturing process design and implementation within a complex transformation environment. This individual will serve as a senior functional and process expert, partnering with client executives, business stakeholders, technical teams, and other workstream leaders to design and deliver scalable manufacturing solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep SAP S/4HANA manufacturing expertise with strong knowledge of production planning, shop-floor operations, MES integration, and manufacturing master data. This person must be comfortable driving decisions, challenging existing processes, and leading C-level client discussions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end manufacturing processes within SAP S/4HANA, including:
    • Production Planning and Execution
    • Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
    • Production Orders
    • Bills of Material (BOM)
    • Routings and Work Centers
    • Production Confirmations
    • Batch Management and Serialization
    • Subcontracting
    • Quality Management (QM)
  • Serve as the functional lead for S/4HANA manufacturing capabilities, including:
    • Demand Management
    • MRP and material planning
    • Make-to-Order (MTO)
    • Make-to-Stock (MTS)
    • Engineer-to-Order (ETO)
    • Engineering Change Management (ECM)
    • Variant Configuration
  • Lead manufacturing process workshops, requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration strategy, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Define and optimize manufacturing master data structures, including BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions, material masters, and related dependencies.
  • Drive integration between SAP S/4HANA and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other shop-floor technologies.
  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, procurement, quality, operations, and technology teams to ensure manufacturing processes operate effectively across functional boundaries.
  • Lead senior-level client discussions and communicate complex SAP and manufacturing concepts to C-suite executives, business leaders, and technical stakeholders.
  • Provide functional leadership across multiple teams, identify dependencies and risks, resolve process and design issues, and drive decisions to completion.
  • Operate effectively in a startup-like, high-growth environment where requirements may evolve quickly and individuals are expected to take ownership beyond traditional role boundaries.
  • Adapt solution designs and delivery approaches based on changing client priorities, business requirements, and implementation challenges.
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive functional experience with SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing / Production Planning (PP).
  • Strong end-to-end understanding of manufacturing processes from demand and production planning through shop-floor execution and quality.
  • Hands-on functional expertise with MRP, production orders, BOMs, routings, work centers, production confirmations, subcontracting, batch management, serialization, and QM.
  • Strong experience with MTO, MTS, ETO, Engineering Change Management, and Variant Configuration.
  • Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with MES and shop-floor systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale SAP manufacturing transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into SAP process and solution designs.
  • Strong consultative and client-facing skills with experience presenting recommendations and leading discussions with C-level executives.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive cross-functional teams without relying solely on direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements and priorities.
