Billing Analyst

Job Location: Oakland, CA – Hybrid (Onsite once per week)
Job Type: Contract – 7 Months
Pay Rate: $30/hour with insurance benefits or $33/hour without insurance
 

Job Summary

We are seeking a career-level Billing Analyst to support contract billing, invoicing, cost analysis, and customer payment follow-up activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with contracts, invoicing, financial analysis, and SAP reporting.
 
This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Run reports from SAP to review and analyze actual costs associated with contracts.
  • Review contracts to determine billing requirements and identify amounts that need to be invoiced.
  • Prepare and process invoices accurately and in accordance with contractual terms.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure timely payment and resolve outstanding billing or payment issues.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to support billing and financial decisions.
  • Conduct fundamental analysis and what-if modeling to understand how different factors may impact business outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a changing business environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related professional experience.
  • Experience with invoicing, billing, or contract administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience reviewing and working with contracts.
  • Experience with SAP reporting and cost analysis.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, or similar software.

Additional Information

  • Local candidates only.
  • This is a hybrid position requiring onsite presence in Oakland, CA, once per week.
  • A client laptop will be provided. In case of a delay, the supplier must provide a laptop for the candidate to begin work.
  • Two monitor screens are required and will be provided by the supplier.
