Senior Program Manager - SAP transformation

Title: SAP Program Finance & Controls Lead

Location: Newark, NJ (3 days a week onsite)

We are looking for a senior SAP Program Finance & Controls Lead to drive financial governance, cost control, and program oversight across large SAP transformation initiatives. This is not a traditional PM role the candidate will act as a strategic right-hand to program leadership, ensuring financial discipline, program stability, and proactive risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end program financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
• Manage cost control and cost volatility, ensuring financial predictability across the program
• Conduct internal cost audits and ensure adherence to financial governance standards
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) including CPI, SPI, ETC, and EAC metrics
• Establish and manage program controls framework and financial governance processes
• Align financial plans with program schedules and delivery milestones
• Oversee Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and understand financial impact of schedule changes
• Perform variance analysis (actual vs plan) and provide forecast insights
• Lead risk and opportunity management with focus on financial and delivery impact
• Drive executive reporting, dashboards, and governance cadence
• Act as a trusted advisor to program leadership, enabling data-driven decision-making

Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience in SAP programs / Program Finance / Program Controls / PMO Finance
• Strong expertise in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial governance
• Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), CPI, SPI, ETC, EAC
• Experience in large-scale SAP transformations (S/4HANA preferred)
• Strong understanding of Program Controls, Governance, and Financial Planning
• Experience working with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Primavera P6, or MS Project
• Proven ability to manage financial risks, cost audits, and variance analysis
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and leadership teams
• Ability to manage multiple high-visibility programs and vendors
