We are seeking a Senior Azure Messaging Platform Engineer to design, build, and support highly available, mission-critical enterprise messaging solutions. This is a hands-on role focused on Azure Service Bus, Geo-Replication, Terraform, automation, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate has experience supporting real-time, business-critical messaging environments and can contribute from design through production implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support Azure Service Bus Premium messaging solutions.
- Implement Azure Geo-Replication and multi-region resiliency strategies.
- Develop and enhance Terraform scripts and reusable infrastructure-as-code.
- Design and execute HA/DR, failover, failback, and resiliency testing.
- Automate deployments and operational processes using Python, PowerShell, and/or Azure CLI.
- Support queues, topics, subscriptions, DLQs, message replay, retries, duplicate handling, and message ordering.
- Develop DR runbooks, documentation, monitoring, alerts, and operational procedures.
- Troubleshoot production messaging, integration, performance, and reliability issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve Azure cost management, automation, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of cloud, platform, middleware, integration, or enterprise messaging engineering experience.
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Service Bus.
- Experience implementing Geo-Replication or comparable multi-region messaging solutions.
- Advanced Terraform experience ? required.
- Hands-on experience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery, RTO/RPO, failover/failback, and DR testing.
- Strong understanding of enterprise messaging and distributed/event-driven systems.
- Automation/scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, and/or Azure CLI.
- Experience supporting business-critical production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- IBM MQ and/or TIBCO experience.
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Dynatrace, or similar observability tools.
- Experience with high-volume, real-time transactional environments such as financial services or banking.
- Experience developing DR runbooks and automated/self-healing processes.
Work Arrangement: U.S.-based remote candidates may be considered. Must be able to work Pacific Time business hours
