Job Description HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our EHS Tam as an Environmental Services Engineer II.
Summary The Environmental Services Engineer II takes part in establishing and implementing organization policies and procedures regarding environmental regulations and assists plants in troubleshooting environmental compliance issues. This position submits required environmental permit applications and environmental compliance reports in a timely manner.
Responsibilities - Completing environmental reporting requirements for HarbisonWalker International facilities
- Preparing and submitting environmental & safety reporting (Title V, air, water, waste) and SPCC and SWPP plans
- Providing technical guidance to manufacturing personnel regarding environmental issues
- Implementing corporate environmental policies and procedures
- Conducting environmental audits of manufacturing facilities
- Negotiating environmental compliance issues with regulatory agencies
- Evaluating capital projects as related to environmental issues
Requirements - The Environmental Services Engineer II requires four (4) to six (6) years of environmental engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Requires B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
- Requires computer operation skills including, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Requires knowledge of process system and environmental control technology
- Requires knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and workers' compensation regulations and practices
- Requires strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Physical and Environmental Requirements - Physical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time sitting, and talking or hearing; 1/3 to 2/3 of time standing, walking, using hands/fingers to handle and/or feel and reaching with hands and arms; less than 1/3 of time climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
- Lifting: Up to 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time.
- Vision: Requires accurate close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Environment: Requires more than 2/3 of time in an office setting with very limited exposure; less than 1/3 of time working near moving mechanical parts, working with explosives, working in high, precarious places, exposed to outdoor weather, wet/humid conditions, extreme heat or cold, fumes or airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, vibrations, the risk of electrical shock and the risk of radiation.
- Noise: Requires exposure to very quiet conditions.
