Summary
The Product Manager for Financial Systems will guide the evolution of internal finance-related technology platforms. This role serves as the strategic connector between Accounting/Finance teams and IT, ensuring financial processes, such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Revenue workflows are transformed into efficient automated solutions. Success in this position requires deep knowledge of financial systems, strong analytical abilities, and proven experience leading internal product initiatives that streamline operations.
Responsibilities
- Act as a core contributor within a newly established power-focused business unit.
- Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to uncover pain points, define target-state capabilities, and align them with automation strategies.
- Lead finance-driven ERP implementation and transition efforts.
- Drive the requirements process-facilitating workshops, documenting needs, and ensuring alignment on functional and technical expectations.
- Collaborate closely with technology teams to design effective solutions.
- Review and refine automation roadmaps, intake requests, and prioritization sequences; communicate updates and progress across stakeholders.
- Work with IT, Supply Chain, and cross-functional partners to maintain an integrated product and feature roadmap.
- Shift teams from manual, spreadsheet-heavy workflows to streamlined ERP-centric processes.
- Support integration with data lake platforms and AI-enabled financial automation initiatives.
- Encourage user adoption and engagement with new internal tools.
- Utilize stakeholder feedback to identify areas for increased automation and operational efficiency.
- Participate in M&A-related diligence activities.
- Perform additional tasks as business needs evolve.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science; Master's degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of product management experience, including at least 3 years focused on financial systems or ERP products.
- Strong understanding of core accounting practices (GL, AP, AR) and revenue processes.
- Direct, hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Experience working in the energy sector or within public companies is beneficial.
- Strong decision-making skills, organizational capabilities, and business acumen.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities with patience, flexibility, and professionalism.
- High sense of accountability, ethical judgment, and cultural awareness.
