Senior DB2 z/OS Systems Programmer

A globally recognized Financial Services organization is seeking a Senior DB2 z/OS Systems Programmer to join its infrastructure team. This is a critical, high-visibility role supporting enterprise DB2 environments within a complex, mission-critical mainframe infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior-level DB2 z/OS Systems Programmer supporting enterprise production environments

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 subsystems on z/OS

• Perform performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning to ensure optimal system stability and throughput

• Implement and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions

• Support and maintain DB2 Connect environments

• Partner closely with DBAs, application development teams, and MVS/system programming teams

• Maintain and enforce DB2 database security best practices

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide root-cause analysis

• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and compliance with enterprise standards

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a DB2 z/OS Systems Programmer

• Strong expertise in:

  • DB2 for z/OS installation and maintenance

  • DB2 performance monitoring and tuning

  • DB2 Connect configuration and support

  • High-availability implementations

  • Mainframe (z/OS, MVS) environments

• Experience collaborating with DBAs, development teams, and infrastructure groups

• Strong understanding of database security and compliance best practices

Preferred Experience

• Financial services industry experience

• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments

• Knowledge of capacity planning and infrastructure optimization
