Role Summary 

We are seeking a highly experienced WebSmart Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications built on IBM i / AS400 platforms using WebSmart. The role requires deep expertise in backend application development, strong knowledge of DB2/400 and SQL, and the ability to work on business-critical systems with high reliability and performance expectations. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, test, and maintain WebSmart-based applications on IBM i / AS400. 
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and solutions. 
• Develop and support backend logic, business rules, and database-driven web applications. 
• Work extensively with DB2/400, SQL, and IBM i objects. 
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and production issues. 
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and support release activities. 
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams. 
• Maintain documentation for technical designs, code changes, and support processes. 
• Support application enhancements, performance tuning, and modernization initiatives. 
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and development best practices. 

Required Skills 

• Minimum 8 years of experience in application development and support. 
• Strong hands-on experience in WebSmart development. 
• Solid knowledge of IBM i / AS400 environment. 
• Strong experience with DB2/400 and SQL. 
• Good understanding of backend business logic and application workflows. 
• Experience in debugging, issue analysis, and production support. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work independently and manage complex tasks. 

Preferred Skills 

• Experience with RPG, RPGLE, or CL is an advantage. 
• Exposure to PHP-based WebSmart or multi-platform web development. 
• Knowledge of web services, APIs, or system integrations. 
• Experience in modernization or migration projects. 
• Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery models. 
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• 8+ years of relevant experience in WebSmart / IBM i development.
