Position SummaryThe Information Technology Security Administrator is responsible for analyzing, implementing, updating, and supporting all activities related to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of organizational information. This role ensures compliance with internal security policies, industry regulations, and applicable standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesDuties may vary based on assignment.
Security Governance & Compliance- Provide gap analysis between security policies, standards, regulations, and current practices; recommend improvements.
- Assist in documenting, managing, and improving processes and tools supporting IT compliance with frameworks such as CJIS, SSAE 16, and ISO 27001.
- Work with IT and business stakeholders to establish priorities for security-related process improvements.
- Execute problem determination and resolution for identified security gaps.
- Assist in responding to security incidents or breaches.
- Participate in threat and vulnerability management, including monitoring tools and analyzing alerts.
- Review and respond to system logs, alerts, and security notifications.
- Ensure IT systems receive timely security patches and updates.
- Conduct periodic security assessments and develop action plans.
- Prepare automated and ad hoc reports from various security tools (e.g., eSet, Proofpoint, Checkpoint, Active Administrator).
- Assist with application metadata inventory, mapping, and developing data flow documentation.
- Support monitoring of critical vendors.
- Promote organization wide security awareness activities.
- Train and support security administration functions when needed.
- Collaborate with IT staff and business units to communicate security issues and recommend solutions.
- Assist with asset security control coverage and compliance metrics reporting.
- Assist with threat intelligence monitoring and response activities.
- Perform other related responsibilities as required.
- Working knowledge of project management and change management methodologies.
- Understanding of networking, database design, programming, and scripting.
- Familiarity with IT security standards, platforms, and systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply security policies and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
