Job Summary:

The Technician 2 is a technician role that provides installation services across multiple platforms in support of head ends, hubs, and central offices. Technical responsibilities include working with a team to install various pieces of electronic gear and cabling systems to support our customers in the MSO, cable, telephone, data center and communications industry.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to complete cabling installation activities.
  • Assist in equipment installation and ensure proper setup.
  • Support infrastructure installation tasks as part of project requirements.
  • Perform testing of video, RF, coax, fiber, and UTP systems to ensure functionality.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to maintain compliance with standards and specifications.

Job Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of cable TV systems, including head-ends and equipment such as CMTS, CASA, DCM, and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure setup and installation processes.
  • Proficient in working with coaxial, fiber, and unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable assemblies, including stitching/lacing and proper installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of DC power systems and their application in installations.
  • Ability to use basic PC and mobile applications for configuration and troubleshooting.

Education and Experience:

  • 1+ years field technical installation and cabling experience
  • 1+ years working documentation on technical jobs (JCR, SOW, etc.)
  • 1+ years of leading work/jobs in the field
  • CDL Class B preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 100lbs
  • Must be able to pass drug screening
