Location: New Jersey (Hybrid - onsite 3 days per week; local candidates required)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support large-scale information technology initiatives within the Energy & Utilities domain. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated by solving complex business problems through technology.
As a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, you will gather requirements, analyze data, and help deliver solutions that support operational and customer-focused initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements through interviews, workshops, and user stories
- Analyze and map business processes to identify optimization and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate closely with IT and cross-functional teams to design solutions aligned with business goals
- Perform time-sensitive energy and utility data analysis to support business initiatives, performance metrics, and customer insights
- Ensure solution alignment across multiple stakeholders and functional teams
- Participate in testing, validation, and implementation activities to ensure project success
- Produce clear, structured documentation including business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications
Requirements Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst within the Energy & Utilities industry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Hands-on experience with:
- Data analytics
- SQL
- Microsoft Access
- Power BI
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques such as UML or BPMN
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
